We are pleased to announce Alexandra McClanahan as a new vendor at the RC&D Office. Alexandra recently published a book entitled, "Eliza The Pig." Combining the magic of "Charlotte's Web" with the social commentary of "Animal Farm," McClanahan weaves an enticing tale of love and sacrifice on a small family farm in rural Nebraska. The story unfolds through the eyes of a Berkshire pig named Eliza who lives on a small farm with other pigs, chickens, and cattle, and each day brings new adventures. However, when a hog confinement is built on a nearby farm, everything begins to change. Eliza feels helpless and she watches her world unravel, and she fears a terrible fate awaits her and all of her animal friends.
Alexandra McClanahan owns and runs a certified organic farm in Orchard, Nebraska. She is a wife, mother, and published poet. She is also a board member on the Northeast Nebraska RC&D Council.
Stop by the RC&D Office and get your copy of "Eliza the Pig." The books cost $9.99 plus tax. Other items are also available: craft items by Shirley Hoffman, Janis Lingenfelter, Dennis Wacker, and Emmy Gutz; glass items by Marcella Donner and Scott Martin; other books available by Curt Arens, Dennis Vossberg, D.
