PROJECTS UPDATE AT MONTHLY COUNCIL MEETING
Three new projects were accepted which include doing a Pollinator Tour on June 20th, a Prairie Chicken Tour in March or early April, and an Outlaw Trail Quiltway Bus Tour during that event in October. More information will be available as soon as definite plans are completed for each of these projects.
The RC&D is again going to be able to continue their popular recycling and collection events for electronics and Household Hazardous waste thanks to a third-year grant from the Nebraska Environmental Trust. Dates and locations will be announced when hosting communities have been selected.
The Heritage Museum Network, a local group of small museums, will have their spring meeting starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 1st in Hartington at the Cedar County Historical Museum. Following a tour there the group will move to the Cobblestone Motel for lunch and meeting. All are welcome to attend. The Museum Passport Program is being continued again this year with eleven participating museums.
The RC&D Council gave out 45 radon test kits during January and February in cooperation with North Central District Health Department (NCDHD). The kits have all been distributed.
The RC&D Council looks forward to continuing their service to citizens through projects that will make life better for people in Antelope, Cedar, Dixon, Knox, Pierce, and Wayne counties.
